Summary: According to a study performed by the Perseus Development company, Statistics have shown that blogging is becoming less popular. One of the reasons blogging is become less popular is how people don’t use the same blog format. Individuals don’t use blog pages anymore, they just use social media. Another reason for blogs falling apart is the revolutionizing of imaginary communities. Within these blogs we’ve created these imaginary communities and the way that individuals use them now is different. Another reason blogs are deteriorating is the fact that it’s harder for other countries around the world to set up a blog because they don’t have updated technology.  Many people believe that blogging should come back because of several factors. One of them is the positive affect on journalism. Journalism has been affected by blogs because journalism is a paid service whereas blogs an individual can write however and whenever they want and they don’t receive any pay from it. Blogging also offers a different view on certain world events by providing a person’s point of view rather than just facts. In conclusion blogging is slowly disappearing but if we bring blogs back we can help other blogs become strong again.

Commentary: The author of this article does a really good job at providing statistical information about the blogging world. The author provides actual statistics and factual research rather than just throwing their opinions in and hoping that someone will view it as factual. The author also does a very good job at using visuals and comparisons. He describes bloggers as these individuals that are in one big community. He also uses the analogy of the blogosphere being like an iceberg that slowly drifts into nothingness. My only issues with the blog is that there are too many big words and unfamiliar terms used which made this a harder read. It made sense that he would use certain words that pertain to blogging specifically, however if you want someone to be on your side with something, make it easier for your audience. It was also hard to follow what the author’s point actually was. I can’t tell if he’s trying to make us aware that blogs are going away or if he’s just providing more factual information on why blogs are good. Again, if you want me on your side, don’t write an article that only Harvard scholars will understand. Overall, the presentation of the article was really well thought out.
